Testing of portable and fixed operating equipment
Portable electrical operating equipment
In Germany, the regular testing of electrical equipment and systems is legally mandated for companies and public institutions. This is regulated by Regulation 3 of the German Social Accident Insurance (DGUV-V3). As a recognized specialist company for electrical engineering, we professionally conduct these tests for you.
As an employer, you are responsible for ensuring that your employees and visitors are not exposed to occupational safety hazards. This is stipulated in the Occupational Safety Act and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
DGUV Regulation 3 is an accident prevention regulation that ensures the necessary safety of electrical systems and equipment. All companies and public institutions are legally obliged to demonstrate compliance with this rule through regular testing of electrical equipment and systems.
DGUV-V3 testing is also important for insurance coverage: in the event of a fire, the insurance company will only pay if machines, systems, and all technical equipment have been tested according to DGUV-V3.
The recurring inspection period for fixed operating equipment (fixed devices and systems) is generally 48 months, with a few exceptions. However, this does not apply to portable electrical equipment. Here, different inspection periods apply, typically ranging between 3 and 48 months. These can also be shortened depending on the actual stress and use.

The submission of such test certificates and documentation can be requested even without an incident during random operational inspections. If these documents are not available, significant fines and the loss of the operating license may result.
Testing according to DGUV Regulation 3 may only be carried out by a qualified electrician. Furthermore, suitable measuring and testing devices are mandatory for the inspection.
We have experienced employees, all of whom possess excellent electrical engineering training. Our many years of experience in the field of electrical engineering, particularly with DGUV-V3 testing, ensures that we not only test reliably but also identify many potential hazards and savings with a critical eye. Knowledge that pays off in the long run.
Fixed electrical operating equipment
Fixed electrical operating equipment refers to equipment with electrical components that are either permanently installed or largely stationary. Additionally, equipment that has a movable connection cable but is permanently mounted also falls under the definition of fixed electrical operating equipment. The testing is carried out according to DGUV Regulation 3 (formerly BGV A3) in accordance with DIN VDE 701-702. For companies, this testing is of particular importance as it allows them to fulfill their obligations towards trade supervisory offices, professional associations, and insurance companies.
Examples of fixed electrical operating equipment include: refrigerators, stoves, water dispensers, instantaneous water heaters, air conditioners… The inspection period for these devices is every 4 years.
